2025 In Focus (Day 32)

Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

I came to a certain revelation. A broken heart can bleed everywhere. We talk about how brokenness ultimately becomes malfunction or dysfunction. Yet we never take the time to speak about the life-giving blood that runs out of us when our hearts have been shattered.

In medicine, there is an actual condition called broken heart syndrome. People have actually died from grief and other hardship. No physical element or defect was involved with their death. Just overwhelming grief has taken life away from this earth.

The certainty of God‘s ability to heal not only begins in our souls, but it also registers in our emotions and spirit. Christ is always near to those who have broken hearts. Christ is always near to those who are in need of healing. Acknowledge your brokenness, but never forget the healer is ready to bind up your bleeding heart.

2025 In Focus (Day 31)

Romans 12:1

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

Daily worship is not limited to showing up to a building on a Sunday morning. Worship is not just song and dance. Worship is not just a preached word from a high and lifted place. Worship is an everyday act of representing God in many spaces.

It is difficult to imagine that worship is a daily practice. It is even more difficult to understand that worship is a sacrificial act of love towards God and people. The way that I treat you reflects my sacrificial worship. The way I pray for you Represents my worship. The way I address and deal with my enemies is also a sacrificial act.

There are days when the sacrifice feels just a little more painful. Times come when we don’t desire give anything. It becomes a serious challenge to continue When it feels like your worship is not acknowledged. But whose acknowledgment are we waiting on? The tension that lies with every human being is the desire to please God and the acknowledgment of a human being. As we live, we must do our best to always seek the affirmation of God. Why? Because human validation is temporary. However, God‘s well done lasts an eternity.

2025 In Focus (Day 30)

Numbers 14:20-24

Then the LORD said, “I have pardoned, according to your word. But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD, none of the men who have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have put me to the test these ten times and have not obeyed my voice, shall see the land that I swore to give to their fathers. And none of those who despised me shall see it. But my servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land into which he went, and his descendants shall possess it.

So many times we get close to the promise of God, but some issue comes to the forefront that impedes our progress. Churches, organizations, families, and other groups of people sometimes delay themselves from seeing the fulfillment of a promise. Because of delay, we begin to question whether or not we will ever see The end of the road.

I have discovered that many people can get in the way of a good thing. When you assemble enough egos in one room, a good thing can be missed because of group think and toxic fear. The world has adopted the idea That manifesting great things is better than actually taking the path. God would layout for us to obtain every promise.

Imagine, believing lies and fear from people that say they want better. They have seen everything that God has promised with their own eyes, yet they are willing to muddy every bit of the water and suggest that God is not true to God‘s word. Imagine being in literal walking distance of everything you have ever heard only to be shut out by your rebellion and disobedience. Now imagine you have to wait for others to die off so you can finally Embrace the totality of the promise of God.

In this new season of life, I can only offer one thought when it comes to dismissing yourself from group thinking. I want to go to Heaven. If you want to go to hell, don’t take me with you. Go all the way to hell by yourself. Never again, let anyone drag you to a place, idea, or season that does not belong to you.
